Noah's Ark Junior
Information

   Learning ought to be fun!!

Noah's Ark Preschool wants children to grow up to be lifelong learners and we believe that making learning fun will help instill this belief in young minds!

*School Times

Mondays and Wednesdays

9:00 - 11:00 AM

The first day of school will be the Wednesday after Labor Day and will end the week of Mother’s Day in May.

*Age Requirement

Your child must be 3 years old on or before September 1st to be enrolled. Exceptions may be made for 2 year olds, only if the class has not been filled by those truly eligible.

*Enrollment

Early enrollment is encouraged. Space is limited to the first 16 children to enroll. A minimum of 12 children are needed to have a class.

To ensure a spot in Noah’s Ark Jr., please deliver your filled out Parent Agreement form to the church office, 133 East D Ave, Kingman, KS 67068.

If you decide not to send your child to Noah’s Ark Jr, please contact us as soon as you know so that spot can be filled by another child.

A confirmation postcard will be mailed mid-August to verify your enrollment.

*Tuition Obligations

The school year is divided into two sessions with the Fall session having 26 classes and the Spring session having 30 classes. Seven payments of $50 will be due the first Monday of the following months, September, October, November, January, February, March and April. Please make checks payable to “Noah’s Ark.”

*School Supplies

A large school book bag is all that is needed. All other supplies will be supplied by the school. Please make sure it is large enough to carry BIG crafts safely home!

*Toiletry Requirements

Please take your child to the restroom before class begins. If your child needs to use the restroom while at school, he/she needs to be able to take care of all his/her own toiletry needs. It is OK if your child is still in diapers/pull-ups, but if “business” is done that needs immediate attention, you will be called.

*Snacks

Snack time is a great learning experience for all the children, especially in patience and manners. Therefore, we will have a simple mid-morning snack. Please NO cupcakes…they are extremely messy for this age group! On snack day, your child has the opportunity to help serve the snack, which makes him/her feel very important and special. There will be a pre-assigned list of snack helpers handed out the first day of school (birthdays will be taken into consideration as to when your child will be scheduled). If you need to trade a snack day, please let us know ahead of time. Drinks and napkins are provided by the school. Please speak to us about any food allergies your child has.

*Illness Precautions

If your child appears ill in the morning or is running a fever, we would appreciate your cooperation by keeping them home to prevent the spread of infection. All will benefit from this added precaution.

*Outdoor Play

Because of the value of outdoor play and fresh air, we will be going outside to our sand playground unless it is raining, snowing or extremely cold. Please have your child wear sufficient outer clothing and comfortable shoes to school. Please label caps, hats, mittens, coats, etc. so stray clothing can be given back to its owner.

*Curriculum

Noah’s Ark Jr. curriculum will include faith-based teachings about God and the Bible. Daily prayers will be said and Christian values will be taught and reinforced through a loving environment.

*Inclement Weather

If USD 331 cancels school due to the weather, school will not be held at Noah’s Ark Jr. If a day is missed due to weather, it will either be rescheduled or your money will be credited.

*Discipline

Any necessary discipline will be constructive and educational in nature and appropriate to your child’s age and circumstances. No child will ever be isolated, subjected to any form of physical punishment, excessively restrained or subjected to harsh words or humiliation. If necessary, a timeout period will be used as a form of discipline.

*Health Assessments

Since Noah’s Ark Jr. is a licensed facility, the included Health Assessment form needs to be filled out and signed by either your family doctor or by the County Health Department.

· If your child attended Noah’s Ark Jr., we already have their Health Assessment on file and don‘t need a new one.

· If your child is going to a licensed daycare, make a copy of their Health Assessment for our files and update any necessary immunizations.

· If your child has seen your family doctor within the last 6 months, your doctor should be willing to fill out the Assessment without charging you for another appointment.

The Emergency Release form also needs to be completed. Do not have it notarized.

Please send the Health Assessment and the Emergency Release Form with your child on the first day of school. By law, we need to have these forms in our files before your child is allowed to attend preschool.

*Newsletters

A monthly newsletter and calendar will be handed out to keep you aware of school happenings, snack helpers, birthdays and any other pertinent information.

*Programs

The following performances will be during the school year so the children can perform songs for their families and friends.

October - Wednesday evening - Open House

May - Saturday morning - Spring Concert

We look forward to having your child in class. It is fun for us to get

to know each child and watch them grow. Tonja and I maintain an

open door policy and hope parents will feel free to come into the

room to visit. Please call, 532-3442, if you have any questions.

God bless,
